Lace fragment, A leafy tendril with fruit is arranged along the lower edge. At the upper edge, a garland of small flowers and a wide tendril with Rococo elements. The lower edge is slightly serrated, in line with the arrangement of the motifs. Mid-18th century, Mechelen. Lace, width 19 cm, length 67 cm., A long rectangular piece of delicate lace with floral and scrolling vine motifs laid flat on a smooth grey background, the lace appearing off-white to cream with areas of fine netting and scalloped edging, irregular frayed fabric extensions at each short end, and a small square of aged paper affixed near one corner showing a faded discolored tan color.
