Church napkin of thin white linen 25 warp and weft threads per cm covered with embroidery featuring a pattern of large, evenly distributed, stylized Eastern flower bouquets. Flat, double-sided, pierced embroidery, using silk and gold thread. Very fine stitches. Cream and gold predominate in the ornament. Edged with cream veining. All edges with warp or weft threads ripped out to obtain a short fringe, approx. 1 cm long. 17th/18th century, Poland. Height 174 cm, width 65.5 cm. Subject: flowers, leaves, plant ornaments; sacred art; used as church paraments in Evangelical churches. Materials: linen, silk, gold thread., A rectangular fabric panel with a light beige background displayed flat against a pale gray backdrop, featuring symmetrical ornamental motifs in shades of brown and tan arranged across the surface; the cloth shows subtle wrinkles and a slightly frayed edge, with a few darker brown spots and stains visible, and several ornate floral and scroll-like designs positioned along the center and near the ends, all rendered in warm brown tones against the cream-colored fabric.
