Church napkin made of thin white linen batiste edged with multicoloured embroidery. Ornament composed of large projections of stylized Eastern-style flower and fruit sprigs. Embroidered with very fine stitches along the lines of the drawing with silk thread: light celadon, light blue, turquoise, yellow-ochre, pink, burgundy, blue, dark beige, and gold thread. Embroidered motifs are arranged around the edges. The center is plain. Alternating motifs: a tulip flower in cross-section creating a stylized palmette, and a pomegranate branch with a leaf, inside which is a floral sprig. In the corners, tulips-palmettes are arranged diagonally. Around the edges, a pattern is embroidered with light turquoise thread in a double duct. Double-sided embroidery, executed with silk yarn and metal-braided thread with a silk core, flat, pierced stitches: satin. Length of individual stitches approx. 2 mm. Density: 27 w/23 o per 1 cm². Date approx. 1686. Place of origin: Poland. Materials: fabrics. Dimensions: length 203 cm, width 68 cm., A rectangular off-white fabric with a decorative border featuring a repeating floral and leaf motif in shades of red, green, and muted gold, laid flat against a light gray background; the fabric shows subtle creases and patches of slightly darker discoloration, with scalloped edges and a narrow stitched border in a similar muted gold tone.
