Mid-19th century, Flanders, lace, width 7 cm, length 50 cm., A rectangular piece of openwork fabric with a repeating floral lace pattern in off-white cream color set against a solid gray background; the lace has a diamond mesh ground with a few larger scalloped floral motifs arranged in rows and a scalloped lower edge, with delicate looped fringe along the scallops and some irregular threads visible along the top edge.
