Lace, 18th century, France. Width 6 cm, length 63 cm., ., A horizontal length of delicate lace displayed against a neutral gray background, showing a fine hexagonal net ground with a repeated motif of small clustered floral-like knots in an off-white or cream color, a scalloped lower edge with denser embroidered floral and scroll designs, a straight upper edge with a narrow looped border, and a small rectangular patch of fabric attached near one end in similar cream tones.
