Above the edge ornament, against the netting background, in regular projections alternate: a twig and a round point. 18th–19th century, France, lace, fabric, width 8.5 cm, length 408 cm, A horizontal strip of delicate lace in off-white displayed against a smooth medium-gray background, showing a fine hexagonal mesh with a scattering of small floral motifs made from looped stitches and tiny round accents across the upper portion, and a denser lower border featuring interconnected oval and circular motifs with scalloped edge detailing; the lace shows slight irregularities along its top and bottom edges and subtle shadows where it meets the background.
