Lace fragment, lace; edge ornament on one side — a kind of net with numerous loops, small round and slightly larger oval ones, into which small twigs are woven. Above the edge ornament, against the netting background, in regular projections alternate: a twig and a round point. 18th–19th century, France; fabric; width 8.5 cm, length 408 cm., A horizontal strip of delicate lace with a scalloped lower edge and a straight upper edge is shown against a gray background; the lace is off-white or ivory and features a fine netted mesh with a repeating pattern of small floral motifs and tiny round accents in the upper area, while the lower area contains a denser, more openwork band of interlocking oval and circular shapes connected by looping threads, creating a contrast between the lighter mesh and the heavier decorative border.
