Lace, lace; purchase provenance; with a pattern of twisting floral branches. The de brides type of joining with picots. The lower edge is finished with picot serrations, the upper with a bobbin insert. Probably the bottom of an alb. 17th–18th century, France. Materials: lace, fabric. Width 29.5 cm, length 217 cm., A wide horizontal expanse of delicate openwork fabric with an intricate looping lace pattern in an off-white or cream color laid flat against a smooth medium gray background; the lace shows a dense network of curved threads forming irregular small openings and floral-like motifs with a scalloped lower edge, and the image presents a few subtle shadows where the lace meets the background.
