Lace fragment, Floral ornaments. Lace, lower edge serrated. In each oval there is a vase of flowers; flower crowns overlap the serrations. Joined with spiderwebs, so-called Van Dyck. 1630–1650, Flanders. Lace; length 200 cm, width 13.5 cm., A continuous band of ornamental lace in a light beige color is set against a dark black background; the lace displays a repeating scalloped top edge with ornate floral and vase-like motifs, openwork areas, and densely stitched sections creating textured patterns; the bottom edge is straight with a narrow finished hem, and the overall piece shows intricate looping and connecting threads with a combination of solid and airy elements in beige and black.
