Tapestry, sewn from two fabrics. Rectangular central field of silk ikat fabric, interwoven with silver lamellar, with a check motif. Pattern on the shorter sides enclosed by strips of elongated triangles with an ikat effect. In every other field of the check, in eight vertical rows, gold lamellar brocade in a geometric square ornament. Border made of semi-silk fabric with brocade motifs of flower bushes in two types, in alternating rows a twig with a cotton flower and with angles and an arched shoot. Colors: central field light brown, white, yellow, turquoise blue; yellow-gold border with a white-pink-green-celadon pattern. 18th century, Iran. Materials: fabrics; height 245 cm, width 116 cm., The image shows a patterned textile with a gold background and a repeating floral motif. A group of stylized flowers and leaves are woven in soft pink, pale yellow, and muted green with outlines and stems in a darker greenish-blue. The fabric surface has a horizontal ribbed texture and the woven flowers appear slightly raised against the gold field.
