Women's umbrella made of white lace. Its canopy is trimmed with cream silk at the bottom, which conceals the metal structure and, when unfolded, provides a backdrop for the lace covering. The bone handle is carved with floral motifs and folds in half. c. 1850–1875, France. Length 66 cm; diameter 57 cm., A delicate lace parasol in cream tones is shown from above against a gray background, with a scalloped edge of lace and floral lace patterns radiating across its canopy, a gathered fabric rosette and ribbon at the center, and small curved fabric-covered tips at the outer points.
