Chair, Biedermeier style, carved rosette and stylized acanthus ornamentation. Chair with an openwork backrest and a trapezoidal padded seat removable cushion. Legs and side frames of the backrest are angular, narrow at the front, wide at the sides. Front legs slightly S-shaped with volutes at junctions to side frames; rear legs arched backward. Side frames are high, encompassing the seat cushion; front and rear rails are low, front rail slightly bulging. Side rails of the backrest are S-shaped, wide at the bottom, carved in relief with rosettes and stylized acanthus leaves, tapering toward the top and topped with forward-curved volutes, glued to the upper edges of the side frames. Backrest board is wide, slightly curved forward at top and bottom, originally enriched with carved decoration above and below. Upholstery fabric not original — navy blue plush. Date: 1820–1840. Place of origin: Vilnius. Classification: seating furniture / furniture.
