Travel dressing table in ebony, cuboid, with a lifting lid and a drawer at the bottom of the front, richly inlaid with flowers and plant twigs in engraved bone, set with black paint. Inside: a tilting mirror, five compartments on each side six with lids. The mirror frame and lids are inlaid with bone with plant and floral twigs. Three compartments in the drawer. Steel handles on the sides swan neck. Ca. 1750, Vizagapatam, India. Travel/hygiene furniture. Height 17 cm, width 41 cm, depth 30.5 cm., A rectangular object with a black surface decorated with an intricate cream-colored floral pattern fills the image; a central stylized plant with stems and blossoms rises from a scalloped base, surrounded by a border of large ornate flowers, leaves, and curling tendrils, with a pair of dark metal handles visible at the left and right edges.
