Trunk. A cylindrical-truncated tube covered with thick leather and reinforced with four steel straps fastened with steel heads, with U-shaped handles on the sides. Lid closed with two hasps attached to strap hinges; connection between body and lid protected from water by a leather apron. Side straps on the outside have semicircular folded cutouts. Interior lined with gray canvas; lid held open by leather strips. 17th/18th century, Poland, piece of furniture; H 46 cm, W 104.5 cm, D 51.5 cm., An open, curved-top trunk with a dark brown exterior reinforced by metal bands and metal rivets; the trunk has a worn, textured surface and metal handles on its sides. The interior shows a coarse, light beige fabric lining covering the lid and inside walls, with some small stains and fraying. Leather straps and metal fixtures are visible at the lid hinges and edges, and the trunk rests on a smooth, pale gray background. The visible colors include dark brown, beige, gray, and hints of rust-toned brown.
