Chest, provenance unknown, plant decoration, flowers, Baroque style, wall-mounted chest, oak with side walls tapering towards the bottom and a convex lid, painted brown, reinforced and decorated with steel, openwork fittings in the form of plant twigs. The lid has three forged strips extending to the front wall and the strap hinges. The side edges of the lid are fitted with openwork bands, while the body is fitted with corners at the top and bottom. On the side walls are approximately oval handles mounted with strap fittings. The lock is a mortise-type lock from the front not preserved, with a latch mechanism and one bolt catch mounted in the lid, with an escutcheon framed by an openwork weave. The body walls are connected with exposed diagonal dovetails. The interior is lined with printed paper wallpaper floral pattern in the body, stripes in the lid. ca. 1750, Northern Germany, Poland, piece of furniture, storage piece, height 71.5 cm, width 129.5 cm, depth 64.5 cm, An old wooden chest with a domed lid, showing a dark brown to nearly black wood surface with worn areas and a few lighter brown spots, decorated with ornate black metalwork in scrolling, floral-like patterns across the top, front, and sides, including two metal handles on the ends and a central ring on the front; the metal straps and decorative plates are textured and slightly raised, and the chest sits against a light gray background.
