Armchair Berzera, plant decoration, female heads ornament, torches, roses, lion paws, arrows, Empire style, quivers. BERZERA–ARMCHAIR in the Empire type, mahogany, carved, upholstered. Square, tapered legs, arched at the back, straight at the front, terminating in feet in the shape of animal paws. Rounded back seat with spring upholstery; backrest arched in the line of the back, topped with a board with rounded corners; solid sides. The armrests are slightly recessed, in the form of an arched female herma with a volute at the bottom. The whole including the outside of the backrest and sides is upholstered with dark green velvet. 1815–1820, Warsaw. Piece of furniture, seating piece. Height 93 cm, width 63.5 cm, depth 60.5 cm., An upholstered armchair with a curved wooden back and wooden legs, covered in deep red fabric patterned with a repeating pale design; the chair has carved arm supports with dark sculpted faces and gilded scroll and leaf embellishments, gilt trim along the upholstery edges, a wooden frame in warm brown tones, and small dark feet with gold accents.
