Cabinet, baroque, columns, birds, early 18th century, Southern Germany, possibly Augsburg, piece of furniture storage piece, height 114 cm, width 92 cm, depth 41 cm, creator unknown, provenance includes repossession., A wooden cabinet with a tiered form stands against a plain gray background, featuring warm brown wood tones with darker brown and black accents, and touches of reddish inlay on the upper section. The piece has a smaller upper chest with three drawers flanked by columns and decorative panels, sitting atop a larger lower case with a central recessed compartment behind a small door and a drop-front panel covered in worn red material with a metal latch. The lower section includes a group of drawers on each side framed by dark columns and rectangular panels that show lighter wood inlays with textured surface details. The cabinet rests on rounded black bun feet and shows polished wood grain, contrasting black trim, and small round wooden knobs on many of the drawers.
