Chair, plant decoration, Louis Philippe style, acanthus ornament, mahogany chair with a padded seat and a high openwork backrest, with carved decoration. Square legs, S-shaped front legs with volute feet, rear legs arched back. Wavy frame with rounded front corners, seat in the form of an overlay cushion. Backrest framed on the sides by straight stiles extending the rear legs, topped with a board with a symmetrical, wavy-cut outline, emphasized by carved acanthus appliqués. The filling has two straight stiles covered with astragalus, topped and fastened together with acanthus leaf arrangements, and a narrow lower stile arched between the stiles. 1850–1860, Poland, possibly Warsaw. Seating piece furniture. Height 118.5 cm; width 51 cm; depth 52 cm., A wooden chair with a carved backrest and decorative central splat sits against a plain light background, the wood showing warm brown tones and a glossy finish; the seat is upholstered in a dark fabric with a floral pattern in shades of gold and muted green, and the chair has curved front legs and straight rear legs, all in the same brown wood with carved details on the top of the backrest.
