Cabinet, origin unknown, chinoiserie decoration with flowers, birds, trees, rocks, genre scenes against a landscape background, buildings, Chinese figures, bridges, geometric ornament, plant decoration; circa 1725, possibly Dresden; furniture storage cabinet; height 76 cm, width 85.5 cm, depth 41.5 cm., A tall rectangular panel with a black background framed by a narrow golden border, decorated with a vertical arrangement of ornate floral motifs painted in gold with touches of red, green, and blue on some round buds, a few delicate leaves, and several stylized blossoms clustered along sinuous stems; a few small flying birds are depicted near the top, and there are two ornate metal hinges with embossed decoration along the right edge.
