Armchair, neo-Baroque, padded seat and backrest, upholstered with large-patterned silk fabric, supported by four legs fastened with an H link; front legs baluster-shaped with a doll, rear legs angular and arched outward. Armrest supports are angular, profiled balusters; S-shaped armrests topped with a volute at the front. High backrest flared upwards, topped with a wavy crest, straight in line with the sitter's back. Upholstery fabric symmetrical, composed of stylized fleshy plant forms flowers, leaves, palmettes in cream on a red background; background has satin warp weave with pattern created by striking threads. Frame at the bottom and lower backrest finished with yellow silk fringe on a wide checkered ribbon; backrest sides and top finished with silver braid in a geometric pattern. Backrest interior finished with yellow cotton grosgrain. 2nd half of the 19th century, Italy, / Austria, seating furniture.
