Armchair, neo-Baroque, padded seat and backrest upholstered with large-patterned silk fabric; supported by four legs fastened with an H stretcher — front legs baluster-shaped with a doll, rear legs angular and splayed outward. Armrest supports are angular, profiled balusters; S-shaped armrests ending in a front volute. High backrest flared upward with a wavy crest, straight in line with the sitter's back. Upholstery fabric symmetrical with stylized fleshy plant forms flowers, leaves, palmettes in cream on a red background; background has a satin warp weave, pattern formed by warp-faced threads. Frame at bottom and lower backrest trimmed with yellow silk fringe on a wide checkered ribbon; backrest sides and top trimmed with silver geometric braid. Backrest finished with yellow cotton grosgrain. Neo-Baroque style; 2nd half of the 19th century; Italy, / Austria ; seating piece armchair. Dimensions: height 121.5 cm, width 68 cm, depth 74 cm., An upholstered wooden armchair with a high back covered in worn fabric showing a patterned design in shades of yellow and faded red, fringe trim in olive green along the seat and lower edge of the back, and carved dark brown wooden arms with scrolled ends; the seat cushion is upholstered in the same yellow and faded red patterned fabric, the turned wooden legs and stretcher base are dark brown with carved details, and the background is a smooth neutral gray.
