Game table, rectangular with an extendable top square when extended with rounded, protruding corners, supported by four cabriole legs ending in hoof-shaped feet. Foot stained walnut; top veneered in walnut with inlay. Rear frame two-part: outer composed of two rotating frames on wooden hinges with legs attached on the inner side supporting the foldable top plate. Outer side of the top framed by a crosswise frame with an asymmetrical, oval-shaped field, enclosed by channel bars and a ribbon, filled with floral and rocaille ornamentation. Inner side of tabletop has a wide walnut-veneered frame; center lined with green cloth. Function: game table / game furniture. Date: 1745–1770. Place of origin: Central Europe, possibly Saxony. Materials/technique: stained walnut, walnut veneer, inlay, green cloth. Dimensions: height 74.6 cm, width 95 cm, depth 49 cm., A wooden table with a rectangular top featuring an inset dark green panel, supported by a group of curved cabriole legs and a scalloped apron; the wood shows varying tones of brown with lighter brown on the tabletop edges and darker brown on the legs, and the background is light gray.
