Scissor chair, Scissor armchair made of eight pairs of crossed S-shaped slats, connected at the bottom by runners and at the top by armrests, with a board backrest and seat, decorated with ivory inlay. The slats are fastened with a steel rod at the intersections, which, together with the lifting seat and backrest board, enables the structure to be folded and unfolded. The runners are angular, ending in carved animal paws at the front. The armrests are angular, ending in spheres and movable rings. The backrest is roughly triangular in shape with a wavy outline; the seat has an apron added at the front. The backrest board bears an inlaid Medici coat of arms beneath a seven-baton crown, supported by putti and lions. Decoration around and on the seat is a grotesque twig; the slats are inlaid with rhombuses. Neo-Renaissance style, third quarter of the 19th century, Italy.
