Chest of drawers, repossession provenance; Biedermeier style. Rectangular four-drawer chest with a wooden top with profiled edge sima, platka, and quarter round, on block legs; veneered with wavy birch. Front corners framed in the central section by volute consoles veneered with burl bird's-eye maple?. The upper and lower drawers extend out, the lower one set in the plinth. On the faces of the three upper drawers are inlaid dark disc-shaped lock plates. Backs are board, chamfered, recessed from below. Locks of the three upper drawers are applied-mortise, steel, single-bolt. Dated 1830–1840. Central Europe, possibly Poland. Piece of storage furniture. Height 85.5 cm; width 119 cm; depth 61.2 cm., A wooden chest of drawers with a warm brown and golden grain finish is shown against a pale gray background; the piece has a rectangular top with a slightly projecting molded edge, a straight front with two curved vertical carved supports on either side, and a plinth base with short block feet. The drawer fronts display a figured wood pattern with wavy grain and darker brown variations, and each drawer has a recessed keyhole escutcheon of darker brown color. The side panels show straight wood grain with subtle knots and streaks, and the overall surface exhibits signs of age with small dents, scratches, and areas of slightly darker wear. Several tones of brown and golden yellow are visible, along with touches of darker brown on edges and escutcheons, and the background appears pale gray.
