Side table with round top and wavy profiled rim, supported by a shaft of three slender turned balusters fastened together and mounted on a carved tripod. Cabriole legs with feet in the form of a claw clutching a ball and strongly widened knees decorated with an acanthus leaf at the top, connected by a hexagonal cube with three concave sides. The balusters are fastened together midway by a shelf of analogous shape. The shaft balusters have angular cubes at the top and bottom and at the junction with the shelf. Animal paw feet; acanthus ornament., 2nd half of the 18th century, England. Furniture; table. Height 55.1 cm; diameter 44 cm., A round wooden object with a scalloped edge sits against a light gray background; the wood surface is polished with visible grain and knots in shades of deep brown and reddish brown, and the scalloped rim shows highlights of darker brown and subtle glossy reflections.
