Table, SIDE TABLE with a round top with a wavy, profiled rim, supported by a shaft composed of three slender turned balusters fastened together and mounted on a carved tripod. Cabriole legs with feet in the form of a claw clasping a ball and strongly widened knees decorated with an acanthus leaf at the top, connected by a hexagonal cube with three concave sides. The balusters are fastened together midway by a shelf of analogous shape. The shaft balusters have angular cubes at the top and bottom and at the junction with the shelf. Features: animal paws, acanthus ornament. 2nd half of the 18th century, England. Furniture; table. Height 55.1 cm; diameter 44 cm., A wooden tripod table with a scalloped oval top in a reddish-brown finish supported by a set of three slender turned columns that are also reddish-brown, joined near their midpoints by small dark brown blocks, and resting on three curved black legs that end in carved paw-like feet; the background is light gray and white.
