Cabinet, Baroque, 2nd quarter of the 17th century, Gdansk. A cuboid cabinet with a boarded body fitted with steel decorative strips, closed with double doors. Framed doors with single panels in the form of convex coffers glued at the mitre from richly profiled strips. Steel closing strip with a wavy outline, rectangular and trefoil-shaped angular fittings on the edges of the body, punched, fastened with headers. Inside: sixteen drawers arranged in five rows two in the top row, four in the two middle rows, three in the bottom rows. Drawer faces framed with profiled strips; three drawers in the middle row have numerous internal divisions. Walls connected with exposed diagonal dovetails; back joined to top and sides with dowels. Drawers with exposed diagonal dovetail joints; bottoms nailed. Side handles oval; drawer handles round with rosette-shaped plates. Hinges steel, strap-type with wavy outline. Both door leaves have steel mortise-and-apply locks with an additional hasp and covered keys; left door has self-locking latches. Furniture—storage cabinet. Height 45 cm, width 75 cm, depth 43.5 cm., A wooden cabinet with its two doors open revealing an interior of many small recessed drawers arranged in rows; the cabinet and drawers are a warm brown wood with visible grain and darker brown patina on edges and corners, and the doors and drawer fronts feature dark metal hinges, straps, and ring handles in a black or dark iron color; the background and surface beneath the cabinet are a neutral light gray, and there are subtle variations in the wood showing lighter and darker brown areas and small worn spots.
