Chest, provenance, dowry chest with convex lid and side walls slightly tapering toward the bottom; richly decorated with openwork repoussé fittings featuring plant motifs, rocaille and stylized acanthus ornamentation, rococo and baroque stylistic elements, crowns and monograms. On the front of the lid, on the axis, an openwork plate with a rococo cartouche contains the date and initials 17 DEG 73. The lid sides have two decorative strap hinges extending into the front decoration, where fittings form a horizontal composition of five asymmetrical cartouches decreasing toward the sides. Side edges of the lid are edged with openwork bands; analogous openwork applications are in the body corners. Side walls feature large openwork plates; lid boards are joined with tongue-and-groove joints. 2nd half of the 18th century 1773?, Central Europe; piece of furniture/storage unit. Dimensions: height 69.7 cm, width 129.4 cm, depth 63.5 cm., A close-up view of a dark brown wooden surface with a weathered texture and visible grain, featuring an ornate metal decorative plate attached near the center bottom. The metal plate has an intricate scrolling design and a slightly worn, dark metallic finish with areas of lighter reflection, and a small rounded metal knob hangs below it. The visible colors include dark brown, deep gray, metallic silver highlights, and a muted lighter gray at the very bottom.
