Armchair, Baroque, female busts, pre-war collection, ARMCHAIR, upholstered seat and backrest, with spirally turned frame elements and carved armrest supports. The legs end with glides-pads, with an H lacing at the bottom; the front legs are additionally fastened with a high link. At the joints of the footrest elements, ankles are formed, and the upper part of the front legs is elongated. The armrest supports are low, in the form of female busts mounted on turned balusters. Wide, rectangular seat and backrest; seat with secondary upholstery on springs; slightly reclined backrest, with a clearance, with turned side rails in the lower part. The whole upholstered with cherry plush covering the frame and backrest rails, finished with upholstery tape at the bottom of the backrest. 1640–1660, France. Seating piece furniture. Height 84.5 cm; width 61 cm; depth 51 cm., A wooden chair viewed from the back and slightly to one side with a worn brown upholstered seat and back; the upholstery shows frayed edges and patched areas, and the wood frame has a warm medium-brown tone with turned spiral legs and stretchers, a carved turned armrest on one side, and exposed wooden joinery; the background is a smooth light gray and the overall palette includes shades of brown, tan, beige, and gray.
