Casket, repossession provenance. Sleigh, deer, hunters, hounds, riders; Baroque style. Cuboid case inlaid with figural scenes and fitted with openwork brass fittings. Front of the body shows a deer hunt with dogs; lid bears an oval field depicting a sleigh drawn by a deer. Interior: beneath the chamber floor are three drawers middle smaller accessible after folding down the front wall. Lid contains a compartment closed with a plate on brass hinges. Fittings cut from thick brass sheet on lid edges and body corners. Bottom and back wall fastened with strap hinges with decorative openwork finials visible from the back of the lid and at the bottom of the front wall. Mortice-type lock with two catches mounted on the bottom of the lid. Date: 1720–1740. Place of origin: Germany. Furniture — storage furniture. Dimensions: H 21.6 cm, W 42.5 cm, D 27.4 cm., An open wooden chest with a hinged lid revealing an inner tray and several pull-out compartments, all showing wood grain in warm brown and reddish brown tones with lighter yellowish brown inlaid borders and darker brown rectangular inlays; the chest has brass-colored metal fittings and handles on the sides and small round brass-colored pulls on the drawers, set against a plain gray background.
