Casket, Repossession noted. Cuboid case inlaid with figural scenes and openwork brass fittings. Front shows a deer hunt with dogs; lid has an oval field depicting a sleigh drawn by a deer. Inside, beneath the chamber floor, are three drawers middle smaller accessible after folding down the front wall. Lid contains a compartment closed with a plate on brass hinges. Fittings cut from thick brass sheet on lid edges and body corners. Bottom and back wall fastened with strap hinges with decorative openwork finials visible from the back of the lid and at the bottom of the front wall. Mortice-type lock with two catches mounted on the bottom of the lid. Baroque style, 1720–1740, Germany. Furniture — storage furniture. Dimensions: height 21.6 cm, width 42.5 cm, depth 27.4 cm., A wooden chest sits open on a neutral gray surface, showing an interior of polished wood panels in warm brown and reddish-brown tones with lighter golden-brown trim; the raised lid displays geometric paneling and brass decorative fittings in a yellow-metal color, and matching brass hinges and hardware are visible along the edges. The front of the chest has inset rectangular panels in darker brown surrounded by the lighter golden-brown trim, and a few small drawers and compartments slide out from the front revealing more reddish-brown wood and brass ring pulls. The left side of the chest features an ornate metal handle in a yellow-metal color attached to a darker brown side panel, and thin decorative metal strips in the same yellow-metal color accent the corners and edges. The overall palette includes warm brown, reddish-brown, golden-brown, darker brown, yellow-metal, and neutral gray.
