Cuboid carved chest supported by four low legs, the front ones shaped as lion's paws, the rear ones angular. Front has an applied profiled frame enclosing a pseudo-panel carved with grotesque elements on a grained background: central section shows two winged genii merging at the bottom into an acanthus twig, holding a laurel wreath above a scrollwork cartouche framing the lock; between the volutes are twigs, snakes and griffins. Herms in the front corners. Prominent plinth molding symmetrically decorated with gadroons. Straight side walls, originally with doorknobs. Interior on the left side of the cabinets. Hinges and lock striker of tinned, engraved steel. Ca. mid-16th century, Italy. Piece of furniture, storage unit. Height 54.5 cm, width 165.2 cm, depth 57 cm., A wooden chest with a rich brown finish is shown against a neutral gray background, featuring a rectangular framed panel on its side with visible wood grain and worn spots, a carved lower molding with a pattern of rounded vertical grooves and textured wear, and a carved paw-shaped foot at the front corner; the top edge has a slightly curved dark brown rim and the right side shows a sculpted vertical element with rounded contours.
