The arm is S-shaped, painted indigo with gold-painted veins. The soundboard tapers upward, rounded at the back, painted indigo with double gilded frames, and a spruce top. The semicircular base, on low legs with carved necks, with palmettes and a female head in a wreath on the front, houses seven brass two-step pedals for tuning and one single-step pedal for opening the sound holes. Dated 1829, London. Musical instrument. Height 170.5 cm; width 44 cm; depth 80 cm., A tall ornate harp stands against a plain gray background, showing a curved black and gold neck with decorative perforations and inlaid detailing, a slender fluted column in bright gold with sculpted figures and leaf motifs, and a triangular soundboard in warm brown wood bordered by black and gold trim. Several thin strings span between the neck and soundboard, some appearing slightly red among the mostly neutral strings. The base is an elaborate gold pedestal with sculpted reliefs and small feet, and a few metal pedals extend from the lower front. The visible colors include gold, black, brown, gray, and hints of red.
