Harmonium by Jacob Deutschmann 1795–1853, 1822–1830, Vienna. Fisharmonia veneered with mahogany with a sliding mechanism and keyboard in an elongated rectangular case supported by two stringer legs. Signed inside the keyboard cover J. DEUTSCHMANN / IN WIEN brass sheet inlay. Legs and suspended pedal support lyre shaped like elongated vases. Forged openwork steel pedals. Keyboard table slides forward. Bone knobs on upper short sides lock the inner casing. Keyboard cover locks with a latch; braided hinges so-called piano. Biedermeier style; musical instrument. Dimensions: height 66 cm, width 100.6 cm, depth 27.9 cm., The image shows the inner section of a wooden musical instrument or case with a hinged top open to reveal a row of wooden key-like slats and circular felt or leather buttons, set against a strip of green felt; the wood has a reddish-brown finish with visible grain and patina, and there is an ornate metallic decorative emblem in a brass or gold tone mounted on the front panel.
