Sleigh, rococo two-seater, carved, polychrome, gilded; 3rd quarter of the 18th century, Poland . The sleigh is in the shape of a gondola made using the dugout canoe method, painted blue, with a wavy upper rim highlighted by a half-cylinder and channel sections with rocaille motifs. The front is a mascaron painted red, framed with acanthus leaves; at the rear is a trestle originally upholstered with a carved acanthus underneath. Inside the sled are four sockets for connection with skid supports. Materials/technique: carved, polychrome, gilded. Dimensions: height 57 cm, width 208 cm, depth 68 cm., A carved decorative object photographed against a plain gray background, showing the upper portion of a bowl-like form with ornamental leaf and scroll motifs. The object has a rounded rim and an outward-facing flared element, with layered carved foliage along the lower edge and repeated rounded scroll details along the upper band. Visible colors include muted gold on the carved details, a weathered bluish-green on the recessed areas, and a dark, almost blackened patch on the central protruding element. The surface appears aged with areas of darker staining and lighter highlights on raised edges.
