Chair, origin unknown, neo-Rococo style, rocaille ornament, flowers, acanthus ornament, fêtes galantes, floral bouquets, cartouches. Neo-Rococo chair with padded backrest and seat, veneered with rosewood, decorated with porcelain plaques and cast brass fittings. S-shaped legs widening in the upper section, arching into a frame with a wavy outline and bulging form; front legs with rollers. Backrest shaped as a symmetrical cartouche widening upwards, enclosed by channel sections topped with volutes and with a clearance. Porcelain plaques painted with flowers set in the center of the front frame and backrest finial, framed by brass composed of rocaille, flowers, and acanthus leaves. Edges of the frame accented with brass moldings; knees and feet feature acanthus plaques and slippers. Seat upholstery on springs; upholstery not original, with lace ribbons featuring floral bouquets. Dated 1850–1870, France, seating furniture; height 104 cm, width 52.5 cm, depth 51 cm., A single ornate chair with a curved wooden frame in warm brown tones and gilded decorative carvings, upholstered in a pale cream fabric with a subtle floral damask pattern; the chair back has an elegant scrolled outline with gold trim and a decorative crest at the top featuring small painted ceramic details in blue and pink, while the seat is cushioned in the same cream patterned fabric and edged with a narrow gold braid; the front legs are cabriole style in brown wood with gilded scrolled ornamentation and a painted ceramic cartouche on the apron showing blue and pink accents, and the overall color palette includes warm brown, gold, cream, blue, and pink.
