Armchair, origin unknown, neo-Rococo rocaille ornament, decorated with flowers, acanthus ornament, fêtes galantes, campanulas, and floral bouquets. Upholstered backrest, seat, armrests, veneered with rosewood, decorated with porcelain plaques and cast brass fittings. S-shaped legs widening in the upper section cabriole, arching into a frame with a wavy, bulging outline; front ends with rollers. Armrests repeat the frame outline, on recessed slightly S-shaped supports, topped with volutes. Backrest in the form of a symmetrical cartouche widening upwards, framed by channel sections topped with volutes; with a clearance. Porcelain plaques painted with flowers set in the center of the front frame and backrest finial, framed by brass composed of rocaille, flowers, and acanthus leaves. Frame edges accented with brass strips; brass fittings include a garland at the backrest finial, volutes at armrest ends, acanthus plaques and slippers at knees and feet. Seat upholstery on springs; upholstery non-original, with lace ribbons featuring floral bouquets. Date: 1850–1870, France . Seating unit, furniture. Dimensions: height 111 cm, width 70 cm, depth 60 cm., An ornate upholstered armchair with a wooden frame showing warm brown and golden tones, a beige patterned fabric covering the backrest, seat, and arm pads, and decorative gilded metal accents on the crest, arms, and legs; the chair features a curved high back with carved wood trim and a small painted porcelain panel set into the top and into the apron near the front, with both panels surrounded by gold ornament; the armrests end in sculpted gilded motifs and the cabriole legs have elaborate gold-colored mounts and small dark casters; visible colors include beige, brown, gold, blue, pink, green, and hints of white.
