Armchair, origin unknown, rocaille ornament, neo-Rococo style, decorated with flowers, acanthus ornament, fêtes galantes, campanulas, floral bouquets, cartouches. Neo-Rococo armchair, upholstered backrest, seat, armrests, veneered with rosewood, decorated with porcelain plaques and cast brass fittings. S-shaped legs widening in the upper section cabriole, arching into a frame with a wavy outline, bulging; front ends with rollers. Armrests repeat the frame outline, on recessed, slightly S-shaped supports, topped with volutes. Backrest in the form of a symmetrical cartouche, widening upwards, framed by channel sections topped with volutes; with a clearance. Center of the front frame and backrest finial feature porcelain plaques painted with flowers, framed by a brass frame composed of rocaille, flowers, and acanthus leaves. Edges of the frame accented with brass strips; brass fittings include a garland at the backrest finial, volutes at the end of the armrest, acanthus plaques and slippers at the knees and feet. Seat upholstery on springs. Upholstery non-original, with lace ribbons featuring floral bouquets. Circa 1850–1870, France, seating unit, furniture; height 111 cm, width 70 cm, depth 60 cm., A single ornate armchair seen in profile with a wooden frame in warm brown tones and intricate gold-colored decorative accents, upholstered in a pale beige patterned fabric; the high back, seat, and armrests are covered in the beige fabric, and the wooden arms, legs, and frame show visible grain and curved shapes; the gold-colored ornamentation appears on the top of the backrest, the arm supports, and the front legs with sculpted details; the background is a plain neutral gray and the floor is a slightly lighter gray.
