Water tincture, Schweiger, Matthias fl. ca. 1623–1635 goldsmith; herms decorative elements; lions; flowers ornament; fruit ornament; acanthus ornament. Jug with a spherical belly decorated with repoussé bouquets of flowers and fruit in acanthus reserves; on the side a spout in the shape of a female half-figure holding a conch; on the axis a plastic handle formed of channel sections connected by a winged herm of a woman. The cover is topped with a plastic lion standing on its hind legs. 1630–1635, Augsburg, Germany. Vessel; height 28 cm, width 14 cm, depth 30 cm., An ornate metal vessel with a rounded, bulbous body sits on a decorative pedestal; the vessel is covered in raised swirling and floral patterns and has a curved handle attached to its side, a domed lid topped with a small sculpted figure, and a reflective surface showing shades of gold and silver against a plain pale gray background.
