On the sides in gold LEVESQUESDE and on the other BEAVVAS. On three sides near the edge on a white background there is an inscription: MOY:CONTE.EVESQVE.DE.BEAVVAIS.ME / D..OY . AVSACRE.TRAN..SPRTER / POVR DEMONSTRE.LACOTTE.DARME.PORTER. originally eight plaques mounted in a wooden box, ca. mid-16th century, France, Limoges, plaque, height 15.9 cm, width 10.8 cm, A flat, irregular octagonal object with worn and chipped edges, showing a dark surface that appears predominantly deep blue and navy with patches of black and mottled brown; a few areas of exposed material along the perimeter reveal a lighter tan or beige beneath, and there are scattered lighter bluish and grayish streaks and cracks across the surface.
