Host ciborium, Copper ciborium on a hexagonal foot, with a smooth shaft with two lacings in the form of a half-cylinder and a hexagonal nodus. The body is a flattened sphere, the upper half serving as a cover; on it is a conical pinnacle originally topped with a cross. In the arcades on the foot are depictions of the Flagellation, Carrying the Cross, Crucifixion, and Christ in Majesty; on the bowl are busts of angels in circular medallions; on the cover in the trefoil arcades are four depictions jhakas. Champlevé enamel in brick red and dark blue. Late 14th century, Spain, ritual object. Height 28 cm, diameter 16 cm., A decorative metal object stands against a plain light gray background, consisting of a rounded top that is hinged open to reveal an inner cavity, a slender columnar stem with ornamental rings and a square scalloped base, all showing areas of worn gilding. The surface of the top, inner bowl, stem, and base display intricate engraved and embossed patterns filled with patches of red, deep blue, and green pigments alongside the predominant gold color, and the top has a small raised finial with a dark central opening. The object casts a soft reflection on the smooth surface beneath it.
