Mantel clock by Alexandre Pertrand fl. ca. 1840. Four-column portico form on a cuboid base and counter-base; boxwood inlays on the front of the cornice and base with a rhombus rosette and a tendril on both stymons; gilded bronze bases and capitals. Suspended movement with a silver dial with Roman numerals and two keyholes hanging between the columns. Gilded bronze frame with shells surrounds the clock. Oak construction with rosewood facing and light wood insets. Circa 1840, Paris, France. Timepiece; height 47 cm, width 21 cm., A vertical wooden pedestal composed of a rectangular base and a stepped platform supporting a small shelf, connected by a group of tall cylindrical columns with decorative capitals and bases; the piece shows a polished dark brown wood grain with lighter brown inlay lines and golden metallic accents on the column capitals and bases, set against a pale gray background.
