Four-column portico form on a cuboid base and counter-base; boxwood inlays on the front of the cornice and base with a rhombus rosette and a tendril on both pilasters; gilded bronze bases and capitals. Suspended movement with a silver dial with Roman numerals and two keyholes hangs between the columns. Gilded bronze frame with shells surrounds the clock. Oak construction with rosewood facing and light wood insets. Circa 1840, Paris, France. Timepiece; height 47 cm, width 21 cm., A tall wooden structure with a rectangular base and a stepped top supported by a pair of polished vertical columns, each topped with a decorative gold-colored capital and resting on gold-colored bases, with a circular metallic mechanism suspended between the columns; the wood shows dark brown and lighter brown grain with thin lighter inlaid edges, the metallic parts are brass-colored and the capitals and bases are gold-colored, the background is pale gray.
