Equatorial sundial by Andreas Vogler ca. 1730–1800. Circular Augsburg-type sundial with a wavy edge; inside a compass with a hinged hour circle and an arched hinged arm marked with geographical latitudes. Engraved decoration on the rim with C-shaped sections and stylized acanthus leaves. Engraved on the underside of the compass case: Eleva. Poli. / Corfu 39 Lyon 45 /' Berlinn 53 Cadiv 36 / Lisabon 39 Paris 48 / Colln 521 Reval 61. Made in Augsburg, Germany, third quarter of the 18th century; measuring instrument., A small metallic object with a decorative scalloped edge, primarily golden in color with areas of darker tarnish, sits against a smooth gray background. The object has a circular central plate set into the scalloped form, with a few small raised rivets near the top and bottom and subtle radial tool marks on the outer surface. The central plate appears slightly recessed and shares the same golden tone but with a smoother texture; there are traces of darker spots and worn areas around the lower edge. The overall shape is roughly symmetrical with ornamental curves and a slightly irregular patina indicating age.
