Square-faced door lock with latches and key, made in 1861 by Michal Taszynski fl. 1820–1838. Precisely crafted, it features protruding side bolts latches that lock the door simultaneously at the top, bottom, and middle. Ornamentation on the top with a light pattern. Mechanism: a resting bolt with two heads and a latch bolt between them that opens with a half-turn; a full key movement activates the double bolt and the locking mechanism. Neat workmanship. Inside the box, on the side, a hallmark is stamped twice — a striding figure with a large key likely a striding bear with a key, styled like a 19th-century city coat of arms. Attributed to Michal Daniel Taszynski, son of Michal Taszynski, a locksmith specializing in polished steel accessories. Dimensions: height 16.1 cm, width 15.8 cm, depth 6.9 cm., A metal rectangular box with a weathered, tarnished surface sits on a reflective surface against a pale gray background; the box has a flat front panel with a protruding trapezoidal piece and two recessed square shapes, a few circular holes near the top edge, and a long flat bar running through the box horizontally, with the metal showing tones of gray, silver, and brownish patina.
