Sauce boat by Henry Matthews fl. 1893–ca. 1930, goldsmith. Hemispherical silver sauce boat with an elongated wide spout and irregularly cut rim, supported by three palmette feet; profiled volute handle decorated with an acanthus leaf. Dated 1903–1904, Birmingham, England. Vessel. Height 11.5 cm, width 16 cm, depth 9.7 cm, weight 248 g., A reflective silver object shaped like a shallow bowl with a wavy rim sits on a smooth surface, supported by three ornate feet resembling shells and small flared bases; a curved handle rises from the back of the bowl and ends in a rounded decorative knot. The scene shows tones of silver, gray, white, and subtle off-white in the background and surface, with soft reflections of the object visible beneath it.
