Rococo sugar bowl by Johann Jacob Haase II active from 1759, died 1775, rococo style, egg-shaped sugar bowl on four curved legs decorated with a rooster's comb, with a hinged arched lid, a decorative rocaille handle at the front, topped with a plastic branch flower missing. The sugar bowl is signed twice — with the name of Johann Jacob Haase I and the monogram of Alexander Friedrich Krätzmer Kretschmer. The hallmark of Ende I guild elder in 1770 and 1774 combined with the city mark from 1766–1770 dates the piece to about 1770. The author was probably Johann Jacob d. 1775; Krätzmer may have taken over some unsold production after his death. 1770. Royal Prussia, Gdansk, Poland. Vessel; weight 410 g; height 10.5 cm; width 14 cm; depth 10 cm., A rounded metallic container with a smooth reflective surface sits on a flat surface, supported by a few sculpted legs with ornamental tops; the container has a domed lid with a small decorative element on top and a subtle raised decorative ridge along the lid's edge. The scene shows shades of silver and gray on the container, with lighter highlights and darker gray reflections on its body, and the background is a gradient of gray tones.
