Scissor-shaped candlestick stoczek, Jan Radecki fl. 1815–1837, goldsmith. Candlestick for a thin candle that was serpentine-twisted around the stem; supported on a plate-shaped base edged with a half-cylinder and provided with a ring handle with thumb rest. Stem formed as a sleeve around which the thin candle twisted serpentine; sleeve topped with a pine-cone finial with a vice in the form of flat scissors with volute handles to extend the candle to desired length. 1815–1837, Poznan, Poland. Function: lighting. Height 14.5 cm; width 14 cm; depth 11 cm., A metallic stand with a circular base and a vertical central rod supporting a horizontal scissor-like element topped by a textured finial shaped like a pinecone; the base has a ridged outer rim and a small curved handle attached at the edge, and the object is shown against a plain light gray background. The visible colors are silver and shades of gray.
