Baroque spoon, baroque style, plant ornament, pearling, cutlery. Baroque spoon with a teardrop-shaped scoop, broken along the axis, gilded inside, the top decorated with a niello ornament of plant tendrils in radial reserves; angular handle decorated with scales, pearling and small leaves. Late 17th century, Poland. Height 23 cm, width 5 cm., A single ornate spoon lies on a plain background, showing a large, scalloped bowl with raised ridges and intricate engraved floral and curvilinear patterns; the bowl has a decorative border with a gold-toned color while the main surface appears silvery with darker shaded areas. The handle is long, narrow, and straight with a beaded or dotted raised pattern along its length and a small decorative collar where it meets the bowl; the handle shows silvery tones with subtle gold accents near the junction. The background is a uniform light gray.
