Plaque with a battle scene in a silver frame, Hardwald, Salomon fl. ca. 1700–ca. 1750 goldsmith frame, unknown goldsmith; coats of arms: Slepowron; circular, repoussé, in parts in high relief, with a representation of an episode from the Thirty Years' War. In a gilded circular profiled frame; on it four ungilded decorative elements; on the top, an oval plaque with the Slepowron coat of arms and the date 1752, above a pendant in the form of a triangular plaque with the Eye of Providence. The frame is marked on the edge with the iSHW Hardwald mark and 13. Attributed in older catalogues variously as Bavarian or Austrian work; dated 1752 inscription. Dimensions: height 26.5 cm, width 21.5 cm, weight 215 g., A circular ornate relief plaque set in a round frame with decorative flourishes shows a sculpted scene of mounted figures and horses in motion under a sky with stylized clouds and radiating beams; the central relief is predominantly metallic silver with areas of subtle greenish patina, while the surrounding frame features gold tones and silver ornamental accents with carved scrolls and floral motifs; overall colors visible include silver, gold, greenish patina, and gray, against a plain gray background.
